Dismantling the raw food pyramid

Today, I would like to share a little bit of insight from my 10-year-old contemplation of the raw food diet. I admit, dismantling the raw food pyramid is an overdue task that has been on my mind for a while now. So, let’s get to work.

There isn’t much to do, really. The task is as hard as blowing a house of cards. The concept of a raw food pyramid is an idea borrowed from the long tradition of standard advice, we all no doubt have heard at some point in time. Although a convenient way of representing views on what  a healthy diet should include, the idea itself is out of place when applied in the context of what has nothing to do with that standard way of thinking.

There is absolutely no evidence that some particular way of eating is ideal on a raw food diet. Simple as that. No one can give you the ideal list of foods to eat, arranged in the order that is optimal to follow. There is no need for any gimmicks, prescriptions, calculators or lists to follow. The end.

So what is there to follow? Simply follow your body and do what is comfortable to YOU. That is by far the best advice anyone could ever give you.

To that, I add: DO break the rules. Follow your heart.
